User friendly menu system: Vision Designer is the most user-friendly drafting and designing software available in the country making a first-time user a full-time user in no time. Menus can be conveniently popped up at the current cursor location and all commands can be invoked by a single character which is highlighted on the screen. On-line HELP and customizable menus add to the userfriendlinesS of the package.
  Features:
  Sophistkated Construction Primitives: Vision Designer supports a wide variety of graphic priniitives such as lines, arcs, circles, polygons I-splines -B-splines, freehand sketch,ellipse, elliptical arcs and text. Each primitive
" can have a number of attributes such as colour, linetype,thickness etc., and be edited with greater ease.
Symbol libraries: Repeatedly used pictures can be stored as a symbol and reproduced when required. These symboJs can be stored in a symbol library which can be protected with passwords and flashed as Icons on the screen for easy identification.
 
 

Drawing Transformations: Vision Designer supports modifying transformations like translate, mirror and scale in both move and copy mode. Multiple copies of selected pictures can be obtained in linear, circular and rectangular pall ern.

 
  Construction Features: '-Vision Designer supports construction features like splitting, chamfering filleting, tangents, offsetting ele. Window copy is a feature provided for higilighting intricated details of any drawing. Object snapping to nearest end point, centre point, intersection point, etc., can be selected using Icons. Attributes of a line/arc/circle can be enquired operations can be undone by any number of steps. Drawings can be automatically saved based on number of commands and time. An on-line calculator can be invoked at any time for calculations. Supports a wide variety of input devices such as keyboard, mice, digitizer, etc.  
  Dimneosioning: Dimensioning is done faster with Vision Designer since a drawing which has been created using Vision Designer, has all the dimensions stored accurately inside. Dimensioning is automatic and associative. Variety of dimensioning modes are supported such as linear, radial, angular, circumference, etc. Base line dimensioning and chain line dimensioning are some of the advanced features. User has a complete control of the dimension variables, such as dimension text height/",idth, dimension type, arrow type, tolerance, precision, dimension scale, etc.
  Bill of Materials: A flexible Bill of Materials (BOM) is built into the package. It can be defined with a number of attributes like area, volume, mass, length, cost of material, time of manufacturing, etc. for different parts of a drawing.  
  Layers: Different parts of drawings can be drawn on different layers and information can he saved and plotted selectivdy based on layers. Layers may be considered as independent drawing sheets on which the drawing is to be created. There is no limit on the number of layers that can be created and each layer can be attributed with colour, linetype and thicknc;ss.  
 
Hatch Patterns: Vision Designer supports intelligent hatching which is associated with the primitives. Apart from the standard patterns in-built with the package, Vision Designer supports user definable hatch patterns also. Open hatch, edge editing and floQd filling are 5~'me of the advanced fealures.
 
   Viewing Transformations: Viewing transformations like zoom and pan can be operated with greater case. A unique function of setting reference tags to restore different viewing modes is available. Advanced feal ures like dynamic zooming and auto paning are also supported.
  IGES/DXF Interface: Vision Designer's drawing can be imported/exported to other CAD packages through IGES/DXF interface.  
  Plotting: A wide yaricty of plotters/printers arc supported for obtaining hard copy of drawings. Plotting can be online and supports screen dumping on dot matrix printers and laser printers.  
  3D Modelling Capabilities: Vision Designer can be divjdcd in to multiple view ports (upto 4). Each one of them can be assigned to display any of the isometric, perspective and orthographic views. Vision Designer supports 3D primitives such as cone, cylinder, sphere, pyran-,id, hdix, etc. Vision Designer supports various typcs of surfaces such as lofted surfaces, coons patch, cut surface, offset surfaces, polymesh, 3D face, BSplines, Bezier surfaces, linear sweep, rotational sweep, join sections and path sweep. Vision De,signer supports dynamic viewing for one/twol three point
perspective with walk-in facility. Unique feature of Vision Designeris it's built-in shading and hidden line
removal capability. Various shading methods such as GO URAD, PHONG and faceted are implemented in 256 colours. Colour pallette is displayed on the screen for colour selection. Exploded 3D objects or face,~ of a 3D object can be shaded face-wise.
 
  Vision Graphic Language (VGL): Vision Designer supports parametric programming facility using VGL for 20 and 3D functions. Programs written in VGL are compiled and stored in the form of symbols in randomly accessible libraries. The user can use this unique capability to customize Vision Designer to his own requirements. VGL is a 'C' like language and has a wide variety of functions for string manipulation, mathematical operations, dimensioning, . member accessing, header files, MACROS, etc.
